Researching the Newton Family of Duplin Co., specifically Isaac Newton (b. abt 1737 in Worcester County, MA d. 1799 Duplin Co., NC) and wife Jemima Chambers. I am a descendant of their son Enoch Newton (b. abt. 1782 Duplin, Co.) and wife Elizabeth Fryar/Fryat through daughter Anna Jane Newton (b. 25 Sep 1807 Duplin Co. d. 27 Apr 1887 Marion Co., GA) who married Daniel William Highsmith in North Carolina. I am searching for more information about Enoch Newton and wife Elizabeth.

Anna Newton Highsmith and family relocated to Marion County, Georgia around 1850. Several of Anna’s Alderman cousins also made the journey to Georgia as they are recorded on the 1850 Marion County, GA census. Three of Issac Newton’s children married into the Alderman family. Many descendants of Duplin Co., NC families migrated to the small Georgia town; Wells, Boney, Fussell and Highsmith families are intermarried into my Daniel, Highsmith and Peebles family lines.
