I am trying to locate proof of my ggrandfather's father Dempsey (spelled Dunsy in 1880 census)and his grandfather who I think is Lewis based on earlier census records from 1850 - 1880. My ggrandfather James Washington Griffin & sister Minnie are listed in his household in Sheckley Co. GA in 1880. Lewis is living nearby. Members in the households match earlier census records from both N. C. & GA
My Ggrandfather's mother is Martha (perhaps Spivey) in both 1870 & 1880 but in earlier census Dempsey's wife is Lydia, although one daughter is living with him in 1870 who is listed earlier. Any info on this line would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Beth Decuir mbrd1941@msn.com
