Hello all:

I am an African American who is searching for information about my great, great, grandfather, Newsom P Bulluck, who was white. According to the 1900 census he had one white child, named Durwood Bullock, b.1882. His white wife passed away early in the marriage according the family oral history.

Then he had 5 children by my great, great, grandmother, Valada Vanlaningham, b. 1863. She was black.
Thier children were:
Hughlard Vanlaningham, b. 1885, (my great grandfather)
Adlonia Vanlaningham, b. 1889
Willie Vanlaningham, b 1892
Macos Vanlaningham, b. 1893
Nina Vanlaningham, b. 1896

These children used their father's last name Bullock once they reached adulthood.

Patrick Bullock always acknowledged his black children, as did his son and their uncle Durwood. I know that today I still have relatives in Rocky Mount, NC of both sides of my ethnicty. I am looking for family history of Patrick, and who were his brothers, cousins, etc. I think some of his cousins may have been Zeb Bullock, Jett Bullock, and Don Bullock.
