Mr. Thomas Moorey Logan, 85, of the Heritage Woods Retirement Community passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at his home. He was born Sept. 21, 1918, in Cowpens, S.C., to Burl Ray and Myrtle Mary Moore Logan.
Mr. Logan was an active member of Konnoak Hills Moravian Church. He served as church treasurer for 10 years and served on the board of trustees for 12 years. He retired from General Motors Insurance Co.
Mr. Logan was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Baker. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Thompson Logan; three sons, Ron Logan and wife, Bonnie of Clemmons, Ray Logan and wife, Sally and Scott Logan, all of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Marion Reinken and husband, David of Charlotte; nine grandchildren, Mark Logan and wife, Dana, Christopher Logan, Lauren Logan, Mitchell Logan, Wesley Logan, Emily Logan, Julia Logan, Katherine Reinken and Daniel Reinken; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Katelyn Logan; a brother, Kenneth Logan and wife, Frances of Helena, Ala.; and a sister, Mary Gail Oslin and husband, Bob of Atlanta, Ga.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Konnoak Hills Moravian Church with the Rev. John D. Rights and the Rev. Jimmie Newsom Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 19, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sunnyside Ministries, 319 Haled St., Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
