KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Evella Edwards Melton, 74, died Friday, March 12, 2004, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
Mrs. Melton was born in Forsyth County, a daughter of the late Jacob Warren and Sarah Wright Edwards. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Kernersville and a retiree of Medical Park Hospital.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Gray Edwards. Surviving are her husband, James "Pete" Melton, of the home; a son, Danny Melton, of Kernersville; a half-sister, Martha Cummings, of Winston-Salem; a brother, Clifton Edwards, of Madison; and a grandson, James Brady Melton.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, March 15, at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Mike Willard and the Rev. Wilson Harmon. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.
