Mrs. Aden Hamburg Welch, 69, of Winston-Salem went to be with her late, beloved husband, Ellis F. Welch, on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, peacefully at her residence. She was born April 5, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of Ethel Hafer Hamburg O'Lone and the late Edward George Hamburg.
Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed Hamburg and Walter Hamburg; and a sister, Ruth McCusker.
She retired from Harris Teeter after 12 years of service.
Survivors include her son, James Edward Welch of the home; a daughter, Valerie W. (Wayne) Loy of Claudville, Va.; her grandchildren, Lewis Carl Smith IV and Megan Hollie Smith, both of Claudville, Va.; her sisters, Jackie Stosch, Doris (Lou) Fingeroth, Joan Rohrer and Ethel (Bob) Krelle; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at Lamb Funeral Home in Huntingdon Valley, Pa., with interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service.
