Mrs. Pauline Higgins Darnell, 85, died September 25, 2008 at her residence in King.
Daughter of the late John Aaron and Treva Peoples Higgins, she was born in Forsyth County on August 8, 1923.
Mrs. Darnell was retired from the N. C. Baptist Hospital.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Aaron Darnell and her husband, Albert Richard Darnell.
Surviving are two daughters: Judy D. Speas and husband, Junior, and Mardi D. White, all of King; four grandchildren: Gerri S. Vaden and husband, Jimmy, of Germanton, Jolena S. Arrington and husband, Mike, of King, Melanie and Benjamin White, also of King; and two great-grandchildren: Cody Newsome and Johnny Arrington. In addition, she is survived by a sister, Geraldine Templeton of Germanton, and several very special nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family service at a later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor' s choice. Salem Funeral & Cremations is assisting the Darnell family. Online condolences may be made through www.salemfh.com.
