Mr. Frank Scrattish Sr. died Friday morning at Forsyth Medical Center following a long illness.
He was born in Fayette, Pa., on Oct. 17, 1924, to Anthony and Theresa Lukegich Scrattish.
Mr. Scrattish served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a professional welder as long as health permitted. He moved to Winston-Salem in November 2000.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Gilda Maxine Scrattish in 1998. Surviving are five sons, Frank Scrattish Jr. and his wife, Shirley, of Winston-Salem, Steve Scrattish and Gene Scrattish, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., Bill Scrattish and Donna and Roger Scrattish of Green Bay, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Richey, Brandy, Chelsey, Donovan, April, Amber, Sean, McKenzie and Jennifer; and six great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters.
The funeral will be held at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Road Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Frank Scrattish Jr. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery, Salisbury. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
