Mrs. Myrtle Merritt Dymott, 91, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday morning at Forsyth Medical Center.
Myrtle was born April 11, 1912, in Forsyth County to Joseph and Amy Banner Dymott.
Many around the Winston-Salem area remember Mrs. Dymott as the owner and operator of Dymott's Ice Cream. She was a member of Matthews Chapel Christian Church.
Preceding Myrtle in death were her husband, Elmer Richard Dymott, and three children, Elmer Richard Dymott Jr., Patricia Ann Dymott and Joseph Robert Dymott. Surviving are her two grandsons, Rick Dymott III and his wife, Lisa, and Michael Dymott and his wife, Kara; a daughter, Mozelle Cornatzer and her husband, Lee; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Elizabeth Dymott, all of Winston-Salem.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, at Woodland Cemetery, with the Rev. Ron Exline officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
