I couldn't find the Spaulding/Spalding name in my marriage index CD for Gates Co. There were several Cullins from Gates but not a Martha.

I did show a Frank Spaulding as being Male White Age 22 in Parkville Twp Perquimans Co. in the 1870 NC Census.

I also found the following:

Francis (Frank) Spaulding married Nancy Foster on Dec 13, 1813 in Charlotte, VA.
