The Pre-1914 cemetery inscription surveys prepared by the Historical Records Survey Service Division of the Work Projects Administration (WPA) and filmed by the NC Dept of Archives and History, are available through LDS Family History Centers. (current rental for a 3-wk period, I think is $3.50 at a local Family History Center). The film is also most likely available thru NC Archives, although the number would be different. I'm sorry but I do not have details on how to obtain the film thru NC Archives.

These films do NOT include all cemeteries, of course, but they do include quite a number of private family cemeteries on farms...with directions provided. Of course, the directions were written YEARS ago, often listing a rural store, gas station, or known farm which might not exist today (but which is ALSO a good bit of info for your research!)
