After reading your postings about ancestors in early Florida and the deep south, I don't think I can help you locate those folks. My family remained in Tidewater, VA and the surrounding Southside area basically until my generation. I have a couple of books, one written by a Spiers who knew little if anything at all about the NC Spiers, and another written by Richard Jordan, a descendant of Arland Parker Hines and his wife, Frances Spiers, who was a sister of my great grandmother Barrett. They were two of the daughters of Lavenia and Samuel Powell. If you would like to see these books, I'll be happy to share them with you - just let me know.
