Yes I'm related to just about everyone in Johnston and Sampson Co. and the South. My family was very busy in these Counties. My line starts out with a Nicholas Blackman from London, St Andrew by the Wardrobe in 1588. Nicholas was the grandfather of John Blackman married to Elizabeth Goode whose brother married sister of Thomas Jefferson. Nicholas's father was Edward. Edward's family was Sarby, Mary, Robert, Elizabeth, Thankful, Nicholas and Steven. Nicholas's family was Humphrey who settled in Northumbland, Va., Jeremiah with father in Henrico County, Va. Jeremiah's family was Anthony, Jeremiah, and William.

Nicholas was a mariner in assoc. with seven men and Sir John Harvey Gov. of Va. who helped bring the Puritan's over to America.

If you are related to Lucy Godwin of Va. she is related to George Washington through Thomas Reade.
