Woodall and James Searcy his Securities and qualified agreeably to Law. Order of sale granted.

On March 30, 1844, Alexander Stancel of Johnston County, NC conveyed to Ransom Pate, for $50, 100 acres on Long Branch which formerly belonged to Drury Barber, dec., and at the division was allotted to Alexander Stancel as one of the legatees, signed by Alexander Stancel and Celia (x) Stancel and witnessed by H. Martin and R. W. Stevens [Proven November Court, 1844; Johnston County, NC Deed Book U-2, p. 296]. In 1850, Alexander Stancil is listed as a 43 year old farmer (1807), along with wife Celah age 36 (1814), daughter Penninah age 10 (1840), son Adam age 8 (1842), daughter Mary age 6 (1844), son Moore age 4 (age 1846), and daughter Louenza age 3 (1847). They were living next door to Celia’s brother Young Barber [1850 Federal Census, Johnston County, NC, District 4, p. 31, Household #455]. Alex Stansil was a 50 year old (1810) farmer on 1860 Federal Census. Residing with him were wife Celia age 45 (1815), daughter Penelope age 21 (1839), son Adam age 20 (1840), daughter Mary age 18 (1842), son Moore age 16 (1844), daughter Louenza age 12 (1848), son[?] Louis age 7 (1853), and daughter[?] Alexandria age 5 (1855) [1860 Federal Census, Johnston County, NC, Dist. West of Neuse, pp. 374b-375, Household # 488/467]. On the 1870 Census, Alexander Stansell was listed as a 62 year old (1808) farmer, along with wife Selia age 54 (1816), daughter Penny age 31 (1839), daughter Mary age 24 (1846), daughter Louanna age 20 (1850), daughter Lina age 16 (1854), and son Alexander age 14 (1856) [1870 Federal Census, Johnston County, NC, Pleasant Grove Township, p. 464b, Household #234]. In 1880, Alexander Stancil is listed as a 73 year old (1807) widower in Pleasant Grove Township, Johnston County, NC, living with daughters Penny age 35 (1845), Mary age 30 (1850), and Lucy age 22 (1858) [1880 Federal Census, Johnston County, NC, Pleasant Grove Township, p. 371b, Household # 257/271].

2. Young Barber, b. about 1819 Johnston County, NC, d. before 1860 Johnston County, NC; md. January 9, 1838 Johnston County, NC, Rebecca Jordan, b. about 1815-1820 Johnston County, NC. On the 1850 Census, Young Barber was enumerated as a 31 year old farmer (1819), along with wife Rebecca age 30 (1820), daughter Brazilla age 11 (1839), daughter Lucinda age 9 (1841), daughter Smithey age 7 (1843), daughter Emily age 5 (1845), son Perrin age 3 (1847), and daughter Sarah age 8 months (ca. Jan, 1850) [1850 Federal Census, Johnston County, NC, District 4, p. 31, Household #456]. Young Barber was deceased before 1860. His widow Rebecca Barber was enumerated as 45 years old (1815), along with daughter Lucinda age 20 (1840), daughter Emily age 14 (1846), son Perrin age 12 (1848). Living with them was a servant Elbert Griffin age 23 (1837). Their daughter Smithy Barber was listed as an 18 year old (1842) servant in the household of next door neighbors Charles and Cassandra (Langdon) Bingham [1860 Federal Census, Johnston County, NC, Dist. West of Neuse, p. 380b, Household #570/550]. Rebecca Barber, age 53 (1817) was living in the household of her son Perrin Barber, age 22 (1848), on the 1870 Census of Johnston County, NC. Also living with them was Smithy Barber age 26 (1844) [1870 Federal Census, Johnston County, NC, p. 392b, Household # 190]. Rebecca Barber was still living as late as 1880, when she was listed as a 61 year old (1819) widow residing with her son P. M. Barber age 31 (1849) [1880 Federal Census, Johnston County, NC, Elevation Township, p. 385, Household # 167/176].

3. Haman Barber, b. about 1820 Johnston County, NC, d. after 1880 Johnston County, NC; md. Lydia Thomas, b. about 1821-1824, d. after 1880 Johnston County, NC. In 1850, Haman Barber was listed as a 27 year old laborer (1823), along with wife Lydia age 26 (1824), son Joseph age 6 (1844), daughter Jane age 3 (1847), and daughter Caroline age 1 (1849) [1850 Federal Census, Johnston County, NC, District 4, p. 31, Household #458]. Haman Barber was enumerated as a 41 year old farmer (1819) on the 1860 Census of Johnston County, NC. Living with him were wife Lydia age 29 [39?] (1821), son Joseph age 17 (1843), daughter Jane age 14 (1846), daughter Caroline age 10 (1850), son Berry age 8 (1852), son Young age 7 (1853), son Gideon age 5 (1855), son Thomas age 2 (1858), and Lucinda Thomas age 50 (1810) [1860 Federal Census, Johnson County, NC, Dist. West of Neuse, p. 376, Household # 505/484]. Haman Barber served in Company B, 10th Battalion, Heavy Artillery (“The Black River Tigers”), North Carolina State Troops, CSA. In 1870, Hamon Barber was listed as a 51 year old farmer (1819), along with wife Lida age 49 (1821), daughter Jane age 22 (1848), daughter Caroline age 21 (1849), son Berry age 18 (1852), son Young age 16 (1854), son Gideon age 13 (1857), son Thomas age 10 (1860), and son Jefferson age 7 (1863). Living with them was Lucinda Thomas age 70 (1800) [1870 Federal Census, Johnston County, NC, Elevation Township, p. 392b , Household # 185]. On the 1880 Federal Census of Johnston County, Haman Barber was a 60 year old farmer (1820), listed with wife Lidey age 58 (1822), daughter Caroline age 28 (1852), and son Jefferson age 19 (1861). Boarders Gideon E. Barber age 24 (1856) and Bettie Matthews age 25 (1855) were residing with his family [1880 Federal Census, Johnston County, NC, Elevation Township, p. 391b, Household # 293/301].

On the 1860 census, she is listed as a 37 year old female (ca. 1823) with her son Jacob age 5 (1855) in the household of her mother-in-law Phereby (Johnson) Flowers age 85 (1775) [1860 Federal Census, Johnston County, Dist W of Neuse, p. 366, Household #363/342]. In 1870, she was listed as a 44 year old (1826) house servant in the household of her brother-in-law Abraham Dixon [1870 Federal Census, Johnston County, NC, Elevation Township, p. 392, Household # 177]. Her birth date is recorded as “Mary A. Flowers” in the Woodall-Dixon Family Record, as is that of her son Jacob A. Flowers [Woodall-Dixon-Johnson Papers (PC 105), Johnston County Heritage Center, Smithfield, NC]. On the Johnston County Marriage Register for her second marriage in 1875, her parents are incorrectly given as Jacob and Phereby Flowers. However, her obituary in the September 29, 1911 edition of the "Smithfield Herald" clarifies that she was married to Jacob Flowers and S. B. Lassiter. Buried in the Shadrach B. Lassiter Family Cemetery, Lassiter Road, Elevation Township, Johnston County, NC.

Abram Dixon is buried in Elevation United Methodist Church Cemetery, Elevation Road, Elevation Township, Johnston County, NC.
