Researching Unknown Jones b bet 1800-1830 in Jerusalem, NC. His son, Asa Iley Jones, b Aug. 1849 in NC moved to Floyd's Mill, AL (bet. 1849-1873). He married Alice/Allis Ophelia (possibly Smith) abt 1873 in AL and appears on the 1880 census there.

About 1879, he bought property in DeSoto, Clarke Co, MS and moved his family there. In 1880, he bought the former Veranda Hotel in DeSoto. Asa Iley (who also used names Arthur Iley or Edward Iley) was a Missionary Baptist Preacher.
