Are you aware of the Book "The Annals of Lincoln County, NC" By William L. Sherrill 1937. ... Contains Interesting and Authentic Facts of Lincoln Co. History Through The Years 1749-1937" (illustrated and 508 pages with Index). Index reflects a few Martin's including the Samuel Martin you mention.
On page 133 - Elkanah Shuford born August 10, 1807(son of Jacob Shuford) married a Emmaline MARTIN. Could this be a sister or relative of your Moses Martin.
On page 318... Judge William Preston Bynum was born June 16th, 1820 in Stokes Co., NC. His parents were Hampton Bynum (1783-1861) and Mary Coleman MARTIN (1785-1855), daughter of John MARTIN of Stokes County. The families of Bynum, MARTIN.,....were Virginians who came to NC before the Revolution, took active part in that War, and afterwards had an active part in shaping the development of their State.

Hopefully some research into the names above may lead you back to your Moses Martin.
In addition, the 1790 Lincoln Co, NC - Census reflects thirteen (13) "Martin" and two (2) "Bolinger" and two (2) "Bullinger".
The Annals of Lincoln Co., NC also show two (2) Mary Bolinger (pg 88) and Mr. S.L. Bolinger (pg. 309).
