Descendents of David Lockman

My grandfather is Joseph Barkley Lockman, killed on Christmas day, 1908, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. I understand that he descends from Lockmans in Lincoln County.

The 1790 Lincoln County census lists Sarah Lockman as head of household. She may be the widow of David Lockman and they may be the parents of John Lockman, 1850 census, age 46, occupation miller. John Lockman was born 1807, married Mary Reed Barkley, 32 at time of 1850 census. Can you connect to this line?
