The Stepp family name comes from my great-great grandmother, Dicy Stepp Hyder. She was married to Adam Keasler Hyder. I have a Hyder family tree dating back to the late 1700's. It would appear that our kin, the Hyder's and Stepp's were fond of each other. My great grandmother was Alice Stepp Hyder, married to Malcolm Italy Hyder, both lived in Hendersonville NC.
