The Wattenbarger family came from Washington Co. Tennesse to the Hotsprings area of Madison to work for the Barytees Mines. Fred and Nancy Etta Wattenbarger had five childen with them in 1910 in this area. Family letters state that Nancy died in North Carolina. In the 1920 census she is omitted. Letters state that their son William was working at Stackhouse when his mother died. Someone was sent to tell him and when they arrived to tell him his boss had said that William had seen a white glowing figure, that of his mother, and that William had started walking home to Hotsprings days earlier. Would there be a cemetery or a newspaper that had obits for this time period of Hotsprings.
