mtDNA in Martin Co. - new subclade!

Classification: Query
Surnames: Roebuck, Whichard, Jones, Sutton, Nobles, Everett, Diggins
This could be an opportunity to sort out all of the Elizabeth's and Mary's in your tree! My maternal family line is concentrated in Martin and Pitt counties, and I am able to go back to my 6th great-grandmother. My mtDNA sample is kind of unique, and it is qualifying for a new subclade. To date, I only have three full genomic sequence matches from around the world, and one of them also happens to be from Martin County! Do you have any ladies with these maiden names in your line-up? If so, please consider testing!

Roebuck, Whichard, Jones, Sutton, Nobles, Everett, Diggins

If you have already tested and are in the H haplogroup, then you might consider upgrading your test. I am not a DNA expert, so I can't say what test would be best, but if you are already a member of the H group on FTDNA I am sure the administrator of the group could make a suggestion. I will be happy to share information.

Many thanks!
