I am trying to connect to a Shade Wilson whose family is from Bear Grass. We, ourselves have Wilsons in eastern NC as early as the 1600s, and the name Shade or Shadrach is a constant in the family.

William S. (Shade ) Wilson as best I understand it, is buried in Willimston, had a son named Roger Shade Wilson, and a grandson named Shade also.

Our Shade Wilson has ended up in the same southern city as this Bear Grass family's Shade, and we all believe there is a connection.

Our Wilsons were in Chowan, Bertie, Northampton, Edgecombe, Halifax, and Sampson/Duplin Counties in NC before scattering.

The William S.(Shade) Wilson, I would est. as having been born abt 1890 to 1900. There was also a family member of this Martin Co. family who died in the last few years in New Bern.

Does anyone know of Wilsons in recent times in Martin Co?
