Betty Jean Lindsey Ellis, 69, of Marion, died Tuesday, August 15, 2000 in The McDowell Hospital. Born to the late Allie and Charles E. Lindsey, Sr., she was a homemaker and a member of Clinchfield Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are three sons: Allen Bruce Minish and Eric Lindsey Sparks, both of Marion, and Roderick Lawrence Sparks of Morganton; three daughters: Debra L. Webb of Morganton, Teresa M. Elliott of Marion and Stephanie Ensley of Lower Salem, Ohio; a sister, Nell Norman of Marion; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 am on Friday, August 18, 2000 at Westmoreland Chapel. The Rev. Alan Carr officiated and burial was in McDowell Memorial Park. The family received friends from 6-8 on Thursday, August 17, 2000 at Westmoreland Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of McDowell County 116 N. Logan Street Marion, NC 28752. Westmoreland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
