I believe I have a connection with your John Logan Moody in McDowell County. I have been looking for the family of Maria Louisa/Maria Louise Krause for sometime. Her father, Charles Frederic Krause, is my ggg grandfather. I have a copy of Charles will written Nov. 19, 1896, probated on Oct. 12, 1901. Twice he refers to Maria's children. "$100.00 to be divided between her children" and proceeds of a sale to be divided between her children except $5.00 to his son, John Wilson Krause. No names or number of children were given for Maria. From census records I believe Maria's mother to be Nancy Bradley. Maria's sister was my gg grandmother, Ruth Anor Krause. Your query is my first indication of Maria's husband's name and her family. Evidently she died before 1896. She is listed (I believe) as 3 years old in the 1850 McDowell County census.
