Paralie Falbie Melton, age 102, of Dysartville, died Tuesday, January 6, 2004. Born in Polk County to the late Joseph Alexander McGuinn and Arkansas Dimsdale McGuinn Hughes, she was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a life member since March 1927 of the Eastern Star. She was well known in the community for being an accomplished seamstress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Melton and four sons, Arthur, Maurice, Bruce and Norman.
Surviving are one son, Carroll Melton of Dysartville; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services were held 11:00 o’clock Saturday in the McCall Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. Rev. Don Morrison officiated with burial following in Golden Valley Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion. Memorials may be made to Masonic and Eastern Star Home 700 S. Holden Rd. Greensboro, NC 27420. Kirksey Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
