Mr. Carl Talmadge Frady, age 78 of Nebo passed away Monday November 20, 2006 at The McDowell Hospital. A native of McDowell County, Carl was born January 23, 1928 and was a son of the late Worth Frady and Rachel Frady Poteat. He was a member of Charity Mission Freewill Baptist Church. He retired from Southern Devices, was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. He was a lover of Gospel and Bluegrass music. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Preceding him in death was a grandson Zachary Frady.
Left to cherish Carl’s memory are his wife of fifty four years, Marie Conner Frady of the home; seven children: Edna Burnette and her husband Donald of Marion, Joan Rhom and her husband Jim of Glenwood, Tommy Frisbee and his wife Brenda of Glenwood, Helen Hughes and her husband Tim of Marion, Ronnie Frady and his wife Wanda of Woodlawn, Gail Hensley and her husband Dennis of Nebo and Joyce Frady of Florida; one sister, Betty Kirby of Nebo and two brothers, Charles Frady of Georgia and Pete Frady of Georgia; sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 22, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Dennis Hensley, Rev. Dean Owenby and Rev. Jimmy Upton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Interment will be in McDowell Memorial Park. Military honors will be presented by the U.S. Army.
