Mr. Ronnie Bryant, age 63 of Leicester, formerly of Old Fort passed away Wednesday August 15, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Asheville. A native of Rutherford County, Ronnie was born March 2, 1944 and was a son of the late Rufus and Ada Grigg Bryant. He was a special brother who was loved by everyone who knew him and brought laughter into everyone’s life. Preceding Ronnie in death in addition to his parents are two brothers, Gene and Paul Ray Bryant.
Left to cherish Ronnie’s memory are brothers, James Bryant (Frances) of Holly, Michigan, Tommy Bryant (Edna Mae) of Black Mountain, NC; sisters, Gail B. Effler (John) of Newport News, VA, Brenda B. McGinnis, Doris Bryant and Carolyn B. McGinnis of Hampton, VA; nine nephews and six nieces and very special friends and caregivers Chris Ray, Judy Ray and Dawn Berkbigler of Leicester.
A memorial service was held Saturday August 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in Westmoreland Chapel in Marion. The family received friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A private interment was in Old Fort City Cemetery.
