I am on the committee planning the centennial celebration for the Town of Newland in Avery County. When the town was incorporated in 1913 the state appointed a mayor and three aldermen. One of the aldermen appointed was an E.H. Morris. In the 1910 census for McDowell County I found a Edwin H. Morris in the family of Thomas and Mary Morris. I am trying to find out if this is the E.H. Morris appointed to the Newland town board in 1913.
