My Shelbys were in Mecklenburg county when it was Anson County and then when a portion of Meck. became Union County.
My Shelbys married in Barbour Co. AL Kennedys from NC starting with a John Kennedy...they intermarried several different Shelbys and all came to East Texas after CivilWar.
