Yes your Augustus Shook was the son of my William Shook and Margaret Elizabeth Hagler Shook. He was born in Catawba Co. NC before his family moved in 1913 to Keysville VA where William and Elizabeth died in the 1920's. There is a Shook reunion the first weekend in August each year at the LeRoy Shook farm beginning Friday night and ending Sunday am. My ggfather was Marcus L. Shook who was Augustus's oldest sibling. I believe that Augustus moved back to the Charlotte NC area after living for a time in Keysville. My grandmother was Marcus oldest child-Blanche Alice Shook who married O. C. Bowman and had 3 living children before she died 14 Dec. 1918 in the Flu Epidemic in Hickory NC.If you wish to see more data, I live near Elkin NC at 336-468-2151 a majority of the time. Before the Shooks moved to VA, they were very active in St; John Lutheran and Bethel Lutheran Churches in Catawba Co. NC. G. Norman Crump
