Although my Polk line has been proven NOT to be related to the line of President James K. Polk, I can tell you that DNA evidence proves the President descended from the William Polk and Margaret Taylor line that first showed up in America in Cecil Co., DE records. William and Margaret (Taylor)Polk and some of their children as well as some of the Alexanders and Shelby's were in early Cumberland Co., PA for a while before heading to Mecklenburg Co., and on to other parts.
