I would love to know what research you have found on the Lovesey/Lovesay/Lovsey/Lovesy surname dating back to the 1500 and 1600s. I come from this line and have only been able to find information dating as far back as 1757. I do believe that Lufsey/Lufcy and other spellings are variants, although I have not seen Lucy as a variant. The furthest back my research goes is with a Shadrack Lovesey born in 1757, Virginia.
