General(1): They lived in Orange County, NC until after the death of his father. Before the Revolution, they moved to the Enoree River Valley in SC. Some of their descendants followed the fall line road into GA. The fall line ran just west of Washington, D.C. to Richmond, VA, west of Raleigh, NC and between Columbia, SC and Greenville/Spartanburg, SC on to Milledgeville, GA and SW to Columbus, GA.
