Looking for information on Richard Willis who may have been in Perquimans County in 1740. According to the family sheet and research passed on by my uncle (who has since passed away), Richard Willis was born in Middlesex County, Va about 1680 and later moved to Craven County, NC where at least one of his children were born. Though the line for date/location of death is blank, in the add. info space for this line he has a notation "Perquimans NC, 1740", but not sure what this is actually referring to. There seems to be some dispute whether this Richard Willis is in fact the parents of my ancestor, Thomas Willis, born in Craven County in 1718. Thomas had siblings John, Elizabeth, Joseph who married Elizabeth Simmons, Samuel, and James who married Susannah Delamar. There is apparently some evidence that Richard Willis of Middlesex County died childless though married three times. Any information regarding/confirming/disputing this connection greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike
