Maxie D. Carver
The funeral for
Maxie Davis Carver, 85, who died Friday, June 11, 2004, at the home of her
daughter and son-in-law, Pearl and Henry
Pleasant of
Hurdle Mills, following an extended
illness, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 13, in
Oak Grove United Methodist Church
by the Rev. Bud Jenness and the Rev. Herbert Brown. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Carver was the daughter of the late Azariah Babe
Davis and
Vashti Holt Davis. Her late
husband was
Weldon Clark
Carver.
Surviving are three daughters, Pearl
Carver Pleasant and husband, Henry, of
Hurdle Mills,
Nola
Carver and husband, Richard, of Roxboro, and Hazel
Carver Huff of Roxboro; four
grandsons, Jerry Dale
Carver, Dr. Henry
Newton Pleasant Jr., Andrew
Jackson Pleasant III
and Michael Huff; eight great-grandchildren, and a foster daughter, Lori Ann
Davis Price.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today, June 12, at
Brooks & White Funeral Home and
at other times at the home of Richard and
Nola Carver, 142 Old City Lake Rd.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Dale
