I'm looking for a family of half-native american and 1/4 black, 1/4 white people with the last name EDGENTON. The Father was John Edgenton, mother was Sarah Gross/Edgenton. They were born in Rutherfordton North Carolina about 1863 (John) and 1869 (Sarah). (Sarah's parents were Elvira [indian], and Philip Gross [white]. I don't know who John's parents were, but one parent was indian and the other parent was black. They had 13 children born in the region from about 1888 - 1902. Children's names were Leola, Edna, Erastus, Spurgeon, John-Arthur, Mattie, William, Roy, Pearl, (I don't remember the other names). They don't appear on any North Carolina census records and may have been living with the Cherokee people. Any help would be appreciated.
