George W. Hughes b. 2-4-1848 Davidson or Montgomery County, NC d. 8-5-1926 m. 9-5-1869 Criscia Mariah Beck.

George was the son of James Richard Hughes b. abt 1827 Davidson County, and Delila Myers m. 4-24-1847 Davidson County, NC.

James Richard was the son of William Hughes, b. abt 1780 in Old Rowan, now Davidson County, NC. William's wife is unknown, at least to me, can not find a marriage record and she died before 1850. However, their oldest daughter, Nancy, b. abt 1807, never married, died in Davidson County leaving a small estate. Her brother, Alison/Alson acted as the executor and James Richard was named as another brother and one of the heirs.
