For many years I have tried to find the source of the
middle name of my g+grandfather John MARLEY JONES. My guess
was that he was tied into the MARLEY family. John Marley was
born in 1755 in Orange Co, the parent county of both
Chatham and Randolph. He married Ruth BASKETT, widow of Michael TEAGUE, in 1788 in Chatham Co. He died in 1832, she
in 1840, in Wilkes Co NC. If you should happen upon on a connection of the MARLEY and JONES families, please let me know.
