Looking for family of Nancy Moore, she married John Matlock in Rockingham County, North Carolina 12/30/1829 under the name John Mattock. I can not tie her to any said family of Moore's in the Rockingham County area. Can anyone help me tie her to a family? She was born 10/30/1807 in Rockingham County and died in McCracken County, Kentucky. They are my gggggrandparents and would like this mystery solved, as this line I have yet to connect. Can anyone help me? I thought I had her connected once before, but it did not pan out. Please let me know? Thanks

1850 at Grayson, VA, at age 74.
A. Benjamin2 MOORE (4184) was born on 6 Nov 1797 at Rockingham, NC. He
married Susannah BARBOUR (4233) on 6 Sep 1821 at Grayson, VA. He died
on 23 Mar 1885 at age 87.
B. Daniel2 MOORE (4181) was born in 1799 at Rockingham, NC. He married
Martha Pansy "Patsy" HAMPTON (4183) on 29 Dec 1822. He died in 1895.
C. Thomas2 MOORE (4180) was born between 1800 and 1812 at NC. He
married Hulda (Huldah) CARRICO (4221), daughter of William CARRICO
(4750) and Jane TAYLOR (4751), on 22 Feb 1827 at Grayson, VA. He died
on 20 Aug 1868 at Grayson, VA.
D. Reuben2 MOORE (4179) was born in 1802 at Rockingham, NC. He married
Eleanor (Ellen) CARSON (4222) on 19 Aug 1824 at Grayson, VA.
E. Riley Ptolony2 MOORE (540) married Sidney HILL (4252). He married
Sidney Elizabeth BOYLES (4781), daughter of Daniel BOYLES Sr. (1096) and
Susan (Susannah) CARRICO (1095). He was born between 1803 and 1804 at

She married Daniel ATKINS (4470) on 10 Jun 1824 at Grayson, VA. She
died on 6 Mar 1864 at Grayson, VA.
I. Nimrod2 MOORE (4187) married Elizabeth (--?--) (4472). He was born
on 5 Aug 1809 at Carroll, VA.

I am researchin the family of James S. MOORE who married Marthy Jane GRIFFIN 30 Sept 1869. He was 17, she was 13. They are buried at Speedwell Presbyterian Church in Rockingham County, NC. Do you have any info on their children or grandchildren? My great-great Grandfather was Anderson GRIFFIN who is also buried at Speedwell Cemetery

I do not know them. I believe my Moores were only in Rockingham between about 1795 and 1810 then on to Grayson County VA.

John Leonard Moore lived and died in Danville, VA as a adult. Annie married an Irby and lived in Newport News, VA where she died. Mattie married a McFarling and lived and died in Danville,VA. John Griffin married Amelia Frances Dye 28 Sep 1853 Rockingham Co,NC. Sources include Rockingham County Heritage Book pub 1983 Dye family and Rockingham CountyNC Marriages through 1868 pub 2002.

There was a John Griffin who was the bondsman to a Eli Griffin who married Martha E.(Epps) Dye in Dec 1857 in Rockingham Co.,NC.who I think is the same John Griffin who married Amelia Frances Dye. They both lived in the Eagle Falls P..district, Northern Div., of Rockingham County,NC in 1860, 12 homesteads from each other. Eli Griffin was born in 1828, and John Griffin in 1826.both in NC.

I think this might be Mattie M. who married Walter Franklin McFarling. They had a son named James Malloy, Sr.
