I am searching for reccords of Absalom REVELS and Frederick Ernest MILLER in Rowan County, NC. The records I have discovered are:

Absalom Revels: Father James Revels, b. 1795; mother Janet
(From File of Rene Rylander)

1850 Fayettesville Dist. Cumberland County, NC. p. 24:
Absalom Revels, 26 MM Blacksmith b. NC

Absalom W. Revels, 72 U.S. Col'd Infantry
United States Colored Troops, Enlist. Mar 8, 1865

Absalom Revels - Death 1886, Salisbury, Rowan County NC, relative: Frederick Ernest Miller. (Source: LDS Index)

My ancestor, ROWAN REVELS, married TONY MILLER from Rowan County. I have examined Rowan County's tax lists for the relevant years. I have visited the research department in Rowan County without finding any reference to Tony Miller, his wife Rowan, Absalom Revels or Frederick Ernest Miller (although there are several Frederick Millers). I am trying to find records regarding Absalom and his connection with the Millers because Frederick is listed as a "relative" on Absalom's death notation. I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on other avenues to explore. Thanks in advance.
