Here's what we have regarding Lavinia McGuinn.

Her father is Michael McGuinn, born about 1765 in North Carolina.
His name appears on a 1791 Rutherford County land deed.
He died in Rutherford County about 1824.

Her mother is Sarah Anderson, born about 1770.
She died about 1851.

Their children were:
William, b. 1785;
Alexander, [my ancestor] b. 1790, d. 1830;
Edward, b. 1792;
Mary, b. 1793;
Christiana, b. 1795;
Daniel, b. 1797;
Michael, b. 1800;
John, b. 1802.
Lavinia, b. unknown.

Lavinia married Hampton Thompson in 1812 in Rutherford County, NC.

Our Alexander married Margaret Thompson in 1810.
We know of only two of their children:
John, b. 1830;
William A., [my ancestor]
b. 1808 in Cooper's Gap, Rutherford County, NC,
d. McNairy County, Tennessee.

Our William A. Mcguinn married Eliza Ann Henry of York County, SC, in 1842.
They probably left for Tennesse shortly after their marriage since my ancestor, Urilder Mariah, was born in McNairy County in 1845.

Unfortuantely the above was collected early in our genealogy researching, before we had learned the need for documenting our sources.
