Brian, I too am looking for any info about the Kanatzer line. My gggrandfather is Lorenzo Dow Kanatzer b 1812, d 1872, md 1835 Mary "Polly" Pearcy. My g grandfather is John Kanatzer b 1837/8-d 1876 md 1867 Nellie Atwood Davis. Lorenzo's mother was Leanna, he was born in North Carolina, had two older siblings, and 2 younger, John Edward and Sherrod. That is basically all I have. I do not know the name of Lorenzo's father or anything about his mother. they tell me we are have come thru Johann Balhasar Knoertzer, but I cannot find any link.
