I am most interested in CRAWFORD/HUNTER folks. Both John Crawford and Samuel Hunter received land grants in Rutherford Co., prior to 1790. George "Washington" Crawford and Mary "Polly" Hunter married in Rutherford Co., in after 1800. There is also a land entry with John Crawford selling land to Washington Crawford shortly after the marriage of Washington Crawford and Polly Hunter. Marriage bond was guaranteed by Samuel Hunter. Later in 1850 George and Mary Crawford are found on the census of Union Co., GA along with Samuel Hunter Crawford living close by. It was a bio about Samuel Crawford that led me back to Rutherford Co. There is also a John Crawford on that same census living near these Crawfords. Need to determine if the John Crawford of Rutherford Co., is the father of George Washington and if Samuel Hunter is the father of Mary.

Also have Evan Jack Watkins and a Philips family that later lived in SC that I am researching. I think both families were in Rutherford Co., and may not have moved but been "moved" by boundary change in 1700s.

Will appreciate any help. Does anyone know of a good researcher who could help me in Rutherford Co?
