MOUNT AIRY - Mrs. Martha Helen Stevens Priddy, 82, of 236 South View, the wife of the late Mr. Paul Evans Priddy, died Friday morning, Aug. 15, 2003, at Surry Community Nursing Center.
Mrs. Priddy was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Stokes County to the late George Washington Stevens and Essie Cardwell Stevens.
She was a retired seamstress and homemaker, and was a member of Flat Rock Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Priddy will be remembered for her unfailing love and service to her family.
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret Priddy Atkins of Mount Airy and Mary Priddy Midkiff and husband Mike of Mount Airy; five grandchildren and spouses, Lisa and Carlos Raya of Charlotte, Melanie and John Weaver, Michael Midkiff Jr. and wife Suzanne, Mitch and Tracy Midkiff, and Neil and Elizabeth Atkins, all of Mount Airy; seven great-grandchildren, Abby Weaver, Mason Midkiff, Ellie Atkins, Morgan Midkiff, Mitchell Midkiff, Sydney Atkins and Klyne Midkiff; a brother-in-law and wife, William and Beatrice Priddy of Sandy Ridge; and three sisters-in-law, Lois Vaden of Ayersville, Edith Rumley of Madison and Everline Mounce of Walnut Cove.
The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at Flat Rock Presbyterian Church, with services conducted by the Rev. Richard Qualls, the Rev. Linda Blessing and the Rev. Bill Faw. Burial will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, and other times at the home of her daughter Mary Midkiff, 252 Paisley Drive, Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Flat Rock Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 884, Mount Airy, NC. 27030.
