WALNUT COVE Danny O'Neil Mabe January 8, 1943 - May 6, 2013 Danny O'Neil Mabe. 70, died early Monday morning, May 6, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
He was born January 8, 1943 in Stokes County to Lonzie Gyles and Pearl Freeman Mabe.
He was employed by Yates Construction until he became disabled. Danny was a simple man who was a friend to everyone. He was extremely proud of receiving his 8 year chip from AA. Danny was a member of the Moose Lodge in Madison and attended Belews Creek Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Burroughs Funeral Home and other times at the home. There will be no formal service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Hall Mabe of the home; four children, Terrie Mabe, Tamara "Tammy" Westmoreland and Candi Pegram, all of Walnut Cove, Lynn Nance of Sandy Ridge; two step children, Connie Denny of Martinsville, VA, Michael Duggins of Walkertown; eleven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; four brothers, Lonnie Mabe and Gene Mabe, both of Walnut Cove, Joe Lee Mabe of Madison and Eddie Gray Mabe of Pine Hall.
