Cherokee Rolls and genealogy

hello, I am researching some ancestry of mine, specifically the surname Vaughn or Vaughan. This shows up in 1800s Burke County NC, however they may have migrated or relocated from the Indian Territory as it was in the early 1700s/early 1800s.

There are a few Vaughns listed in the 1854 Act of Congress roll, however those are traced back as far as the Indian blood, to Old Joseph Elliot a Cherokee.

There are some Vaughns on the Dawes roll. A few of these I think, trace back to Old Joseph Elliot and some do not - I am curious if there is any way to trace back the others. Is there any well known Cherokee Vaughn families besides being related to the Elliots?
