Has anyone ever tried to obtain family records from a funeral home? My grandmother, Ethel Davis Allen, was buried by Overby Funeral Home in Raleigh. They are no longer in business, but I'm wondering if they are required by law or policy to keep their records and if it's possible for family historians to obtain copies of those records. She was buried in 1964, so hopefully 46 years is long enough that they would not be concerned about privacy issues.

Would love your advice on this.
