There is actually another section for Genealogical research for an uncertified copay and it says to contact the county first because it is $24 for a search at the NC Vital Records office.
This is what it says at the Wake County website:
"You may search and print copies of Wake County birth records for genealogy research in the Register of Deeds' research center. The fee is 15 cents per photocopy. Birth records in this office go back to October 1913. Please call 919-856-5460 for more information or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Unfortunately I live in Washington State so have no way of going to Wake County anytime soon and it doesn't appear that they will do a request online. Hoping to find someone who may already be heading that way that wouldn't mind emailing a copy or even just the information on it. I am looking for the names of the parents to help me get past a family tree road block.
