Hi Dawn,
I'm also from the Gaug family. My maiden name was Gaug and my grandfather, Peter Gaug, was born in Nov. 1860, came to the US in 1906 thru Ellis Island.
How are you related to the Gaugs? My dad had three brothers and four sisters. Maybe you are related to one of them.
Let me hear from you.
Thanks, Betty

I hope I can solve this mystery. Yesterday I went metel detecting, up behind my house. I came across a old homestead with a family cemetery, with the following stones;

Mattie E. Carlton; b.July 15, 1873 d.Nov 17 1891
A. F. Carlton; b May 8, 1863 d.Jan 4 1930

foot stone with initials
E. C.
J. M. C.
I hope this is where Elizabeth's stone needs to be, and I think it is
because some one was so kind to leave a headstone at the end of my driveway about 2 yrs ago, and I have been looking for where it goes The stone I have reads

J. M. Carlton b.March 17 1853, d.June 19 1925
All the initials from the foot stones fit the headstones, so I would say that there is a large chance this is where they belong.
I can be reached at

bbcucook@bellsouth.net

I sure hope this helps some one with their gen search and maybe knock a hole in a brick wall
This place is off of "Country Trail" between Leesville Rd and Pinecrest rd across the road from Leesville school, I would be glad to lead any one to it. I am available just about any time
email me and I will give you my phone #.
