I would like to share what i have with you. I still can't confirm or denie Ralph Junior Howell hasmy half sister's husband or not. I cant even prove their actual marriage. But i can only assume they were legally married. However, as much as Jackie traveled all over the U.S., i dont know where they would have married or divorced. I was luckily enough to find her son's birth in Texas. I am certain she lived in N.C., California, Georgia, Flordia, and she also lived in Arizona. I dont want to put any one private life on here publicly. So if you could email me. I can share more with you. But it could be possible that Ralph may not of even known abt the child. The child was taken away by Jackie's mother and stepfather at a very young age and adopted. Jackie passed away back in 1992. I dont know where her son is now. But I believe in Georgia.

I'd be happy to see whatever you have on William and his descendants. I was originally building a family tree from the bottom up - starting with my kids and working back to someone on each line who was not born in North America. I've pretty much done that, and now I'm working down each line to fill out all the uncles and cousins.

Actually, I stand corrected. Nathaniel (1705) did have a son named Nathaniel - he's mentioned in his will:

Howell, Nathaniel: leg-To son John household goods. To daughter, Mary Chambers two leather chairs etc. To son, William Howell a gun. To wife, Susannah Howell all of my estate, but if she marry to be divided among wife and my three children, Nathaniel, Thomas and Ann Howell. Makes son, John, Exer. Wit: Christ. Tatum, Henry Mitchell. a April, 1741. Prob.: 16 June, 1742. Book 9, p. 410.

This also proves that 1705 Nathaniel died in 1742. So it was probably his son Nathaniel who died in 1802.

Thanks for prompting me to look into this. Didn't take long to find the truth once I started looking.

Well, I may have his date of death incorrect, but the Nathaniel Howell b 1705 is definitely the father of:

John (1725)
Mary (1727)
William (1729)
Thomas (1730)
Nancy Ann (1738)

Nancy Ann married into the Hardy line in Dobbs County, and it is from that line that I am descended. I've seen nothing to show that this Nathaniel had a son also by that name, but I suppose it's possible that the date of death I have is from some other Nathaniel Howell from some other son of John Howell or his father John Hopkins Howell Jr.
I don't find any record of a Nathaniel Howell in any of my family. Just a thought for you, I'm very skeptical of listing people over 75 years old in the 1700's. The average life expectancy in that time period is thought to be 50 to 60. Most times there is a missing generation.

I don't know if this helps you, but I grew up in Institute, NC (just outside of LaGrange) and there were Beamons who lived in the area and owned large farms thereabouts. They may be related to the people you are seeking.

The heads of these two families in 1975 were Chester Beamon and Thomas (Tommy) Beamon. Chester had three daughters, Amanda, Tina, and Cheryl. Tommy had four children: Wendy, Robin, Thomas Chester (T.C.) and John. All would be between the ages of 45 and 60 by now. If you think there's some information to be gained by contacting them, I can help you track them down. I don't have contact information for them, but I still have friends and family in that area who can help me find them. In fact, T.C. is probably the person listed under Lenoir County in this registry of state environmental specialists:

http://www.ncrehs.com/rsboard-old/rsweb/directory/sorts/clas...

Let me know if I can help.

Jim

Marion,

Here's what information I could gather. Louise was born in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois to Paul "Max" & Augusta (Vandreike) Hackbarth June 9, 1911. If this is the correct Louise (Hackbarth) Schultz, keep reading.

She was a resident of Pikeville, Wayne County, North Carolina but she died in Fayetteville, North Carolina which is in Cumberland County. Her remains were cremated by Highland Crematorium in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The location of her cremains are not known.

Hope this helps. I have no connection to this family; I just do the research.

B. Jenkins, of Goldsboro, NC died at the Hotel Wallingford in Cynthiana on 17 Mar. 1922 of pneumonia.

This was published in the Falmouth Outlook Friday 31 Mar 1922 Vol. 15 No. 43. Falmouth is located in Pendleton County, Kentucky, and the town of Cynthiana is located in neighboring Harrison County, Kentucky.

I hope this information is helpful to someone.

One says Dec 1811 by _____ Sawser, JP and the other is Mar 1825 by Edward Sasser, JP. Sadly, neither of these match fairly consistant census ages. The joys of genealogy!
Is this the Suckey Herring who married John Harris? She is the only one I have listed with this nickname. I have lots of Herring info also but not much on this particular person. I descend from John Herring and wife Catherine and my husband descends from Michael Herring Jr. and unknown wife. He moved to Robeson Co. early. We are 8 generations back cousins! ha

Howdy, cousin! I only have a 2 week free membership right now. I am a direct descendant of Thomas,Sr. through his son Thomas,Jr. I have no info on a John that was the son of Thomas, Sr. and Nancy Harris (m. 1830). I have their children listed as:
James 1831
Martha 1834
Mary 1837
Peggy 1840
Thomas, Jr. 1841 (my GG grandfather)
David 1847
Elijah 1849
Nancy 1850

I do have a John M. Reaves (1867)listed as the son of Thomas,Jr., who was married to Ann Eliza King. Their daughter, Lou Della, is my grandmother. If we are still related :), I have info that I would be happy to mail to you. My email is: joanne50@roadrunner.com. Feel free to email me there and we can share what we have. Hope to hear from you.

Joanne

Hi! By the way, cydnereeves is my wife - she is the one who originally signed up for ancestry, so the previous post was made using her username...

Wow it's been a long year or so waiting to a response to my initial post!

Anyway, yes, if you are related to the Thomas Reeeves who was married to Nancy Harris Reeves (reaves), then we are in fact related, and quite closely it seems.

It is a difficult surname to research as the spelling is often Reaves instead of Reeves, or vice versa.

In any case, I would love to see any information you might have on Thomas. He is in my direct paternal line, through his son John.

Do you have an active ancestry.com membership? I closed mine a year or so ago, but would be willing to open it up to share tree information.
