Seeking documentation for the marriage of David (King David) BENGE and Lucretia PERRY. They may have been married in Wilkes Co, NC about 1783.

David (King David) Benge, born Aug 1760 in , Albemarle, VA; died 3 Mar 1854 in , Clay, KY; buried in Martin cem, Benge, Clay, KY. He married abt. 1783 in , NC, Lucretia Perry, born abt. 1770; died abt. 1845.

!MILITARY: Revolutionary war Service record and report, National Archives pension claim #S38530, enlisted in Wilkes County, NC in 1778 or 1779 under Cpt. Gordon of the 2nd regiment in the NC line. The regiment was commanded by Col. Armstrong. Was taken prisoner at Charleston, SC. He again volunteered in Wilkes Co under Cpt. Joseph Lewis. He marched to King's Mountain and fought in the battle in which both Cpt. Joseph Lewis and Major M. Lewis were wounded. After war lived in Wilkes County. In 1790 moved to Madison County, KY. Applied for pension 27 Apr 1834 while in Clay County.

belonging to Captain Thomas McGitton's company attached to the 11th Regiment
commanded by Lt. William Williams, this day appts Abner Baker to draw pay due him.
'KY Soldiers in the War of 1812', by Wilder, David Bengo enlisted as private 30 Aug 1813 at Newport in Capt Thomas McJilton's Co, KY mounted Vol militia, commanded by Col William Williams.
'The War of 1812 in the old Northwest', by Gilpin, 1958, pg 227, Oct 1813, After the Battle of the Thames, 'By Oct 13 all of the KY militia ... had left for home.' This book desrcibes the battle in great detail.

!BOOKS AND PUBLICATIONS: 'The Manchester Guardian', 11 November 1932, 'History of Clay County', At the May term (1854) Frank Benge qualified as administrator of the estate of David Benge. This fixes the approximate passing of this brave old Revolutionary veteran and pioneer settler of Clay County. His descendants in Clay County number several hundred. He was near 100 years of age.
